Public Service Announcement

I wanted to let all of my friends here know about what happened to Lavender Dreams blog.  If you follow Diane it seems her blog was removed by a bot.  If you have ever lost anything online that is dear to you, you want to have a look at what she has been experiencing.

It looks like her blog is back online, but with security issues.  I'll send you off to check this out.

https://lavenderdreamsnew.blogspot.com/

Our bluebirds have been visiting us daily and we are thrilled.

Even when it snowed they enjoyed the suet.

We love seeing the birds and enjoy the variety that visit us.

Diane always shows lovely birds and wildlife from her hikes so that's why I've included these for her.  Good luck Diane!

  1. I feel so bad for Diane and what's happening with her blog. We've been e-mailing back and forth. I hope it all gets resolved soon. What lovely birds you have on here today, Martha Ellen, and how nice of you to share them for her. She loves nature and hiking so much. That sweet little blue bird is precious.

    1. Hi Sue, I use a Canon Rebel EOS T5 camera. I love it for the photos look good without fooling with a lot of settings. It's now four years old, so I'm not sure if they still make it.
By the way, I made your pork roast yesterday and it was delicious! ♥

  6. Did she say how the BOT was able to take over her blog? This has spurred me to back up my blogs. I knew you could but wasn't sure how it was done. This is what you need to do if you are on Blogger: Go to your Admin page, click on Settings, then click on Other, then click on Back Up Content. This will send the xml to your Download folder. From there, you can file it wherever you want to on your computer. I created a new folder called Blog Back-Ups. If you ever lose your blog content you can re-create a new blog using this xml file.

    1. Thank you, Cathy. I was looking in the wrong place and doing the wrong thing. Blog backing up even now. Then I’ll store it on my Exterior Hard Drive to save space on my laptop.

  7. I forgot to say "a box will appear that says Save To Your Computer, click on that" after you've clicked on Back Up Content."

    1. Thank you Cathy for your information on backing up our blogs on Blogger. I have backed up my blog in the past and intend to do it again! It would be heartbreaking to lose a lot of information that we have here, even though I do have the photos stored elsewhere.
Apparently, Google's bots roam all over blogs looking for pre-programmed words of woe in Blogger. According to Diane, once it finds something it shuts the blog down without explanation!

  8. How very sweet of you! I love the cute little birds and I'm looking out at our feeders right now. A Downy woodpecker flew in and out before I could get a good look at him! Thanks so much for spreading the word and also letting our blog friends know my blog is back again. It's been distressing...to say the least! But having friends like you has helped more than you know! Sweet hugs, Diane

    1. Diane, I am so glad you are getting this issue resolved! I do hope you are able to relax and enjoy yourself now that you have settled most of this issue.
We had a pileated woodpecker visit this morning. It's always lovely when we get an unusual bird at our feeders or suet. ♥

  10. Wonderful captures Martha Ellen. I love those little birds of yours. I got a rare sighting of a bluebird the other day on my deck cam. I was thrilled. I had hoped he would be bringing back his relatives but I haven't seen him since.

I am happy Diane got her blog back. I'll go follow that link right after I push the publish button.

  11. I have been reading about Diane's troubles with blogger. All of us who blog probably took a collective gasp at the thought of so much of our hearts going ! I am relieved that her situation was somewhat resolved, although I don't imagine it was without plenty of angst.

  12. Beautiful....I read about Diane's blog, such a shame. I have actually (and it will take a lot of paper and ink) started to print my post. I thought I might make a notebook of each yr. Also I thought in doing that maybe one day my kids and grands will enjoy reading my thoughts.....OR MAYBE NOT! haha...I will never look at bluebirds the same. They were moms fave and 24 hours before she left us her back yard had about 6 or more in it. I like to think they were her mom, dad, brother and sisters coming to show her the way. What is strange, other then the redbird that let me pet it the day of the funeral, moms yard is void of any birds. I put seed out in Lily's bird feeder (hers cause it draws the birds at my house so she can watch) but that feeder has not be touched and that way over a month ago. Strange.

  13. What a nice gesture for Diane. And us! The bird photos are beautiful. You must have a lot of patience to catch these great images--and a good camera!!
