Father's Day Reunion

I could hardly contain myself on Father's Day.  We finally were reunited with our son and his boys for Father's Day.  After having a virtual visit with our daughter and son-in-law, our son and his family came up to celebrate.  They only live 50 miles from us, but because of Covid-19 we have been keeping our distance.  Our daughter has not been able to travel the 600 miles safely so we will have to wait to see her.  Hopefully we will all be together before too long.

After having a dinner of Ribs and fixings we ventured outside to take a few photos.  I am astonished how tall my grandsons have become since seeing them last January.

Our grandsons will surely pass their Dad's height soon!

Bear and his grandsons!

Boo and Bear (our grandparent names) are so proud of our grandsons.  We are so blessed to have such kind, sweet, smart grandsons!

Family means everything to me.  This time apart has been quite difficult.  I'm so happy to have had a great day to honor the Dads in our family.

    1. Ellen, it was truly a wonderful day. Absence does make the heart grow fonder. My daughter and I are the only gals in our immediate family.

  2. Well, don't you look just the cutest and happiest Grandma on the planet? Even I am weeping tears of joy for you. Not having any family left, I can only begin to imagine the heartache of long, enforced separation at a time of incredible worrying.

Thanking God that He has kept you safe, and you and your family have observed the precautions and have remained safe and well.

  6. I'm so happy for you to have gotten together with your son and grandsons. That has been the very hardest part of this Covid tragedy for grandparents. But I'm glad we're all being careful so we all make it through this. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

    1. I think everyone enjoyed themselves, Jeanie. Our younger grands enjoyed a rousing game of German Checkers and were rewarded with candy--that always gets their attention! Lol. It really was a very enjoyable day with them all.

  9. How wonderful your family got together again. These are wonderful photos, Martha Ellen, of the fathers and sons.....and YOU. Ribs sound delicious. I was telling Nel that I've been craving barbecue lately. You all have big smiles and look so happy.

ps.....I noticed the big font on your post and just wanted to say thank you. When we get older, it's nice to be able to read our favorite blogs with them being easy on the eyes. : )

    1. What a kind thing to say, Jan. We are still being very careful here. These are the only human beings we've been this close to since March. Hope you and your family are staying safe and well.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind comments, Marigold. I think the hardest part of the pandemic has been the isolation from my family. Take care of yourself, my friend.
