As pretty as the snow is, I'm tired of it.
I know many of you have had a lot more snow and cold temperatures than we have.
I love snow and long for it at the beginning of winter. We didn't have any until February and it was beautiful. Now it is March and I long for Spring.
If you are still reading this, I must apologize for my whining. This is just how I'm feeling today.
I think spring is going to jump out all of a sudden. It certainly is slow this year compared to other years. I can understand your desire to be outside in the garden!
ReplyDeleteYou are right, Dotsie. It will probably come quickly after this round of snow. I know the snow is good moisture for all the plants. Just feeling a little cabin fever today! ♥
DeleteDon't apologise, I think we are all starting to feel the same way! Even those who love winter feel it has outstayed it's welcome this year. All I can say is thank goodness we had a better winter this year, for last year was horrendous with storm force winds one after the other and floods that did not drain for months on end. Still, I would like a proper winter ~ one with snow and freezing temperatures because the garden needs it to redress the balance of 'bugs' ~~~ there is no pleasing some people lol
ReplyDeleteI hear you loud and clear though, itchin and a twitchin to get out there in earnest! ~~~Deb in Wales
Yesterday was one of those days for me, Deb. The sun is shining this morning everything appears a little brighter today. With 7 inches of new snow, my hubby and grandson have some shoveling to do. I'm glad your winter has been better this year. Really, ours has also--just a little later than usual. ♥
Deletep.s. I have been meaning to say for a few days now, I do like your header!
DeleteThank you, Deb. I'm a learn as you go type of gal.♥
DeleteI agree, I am tired of bad weather. I feel trapped in the house. I don't like icy roads! It ended up a little better than I thought. I think the winds dried up much of the water on the roads.
ReplyDeleteWhen I get back the week after next I will expect some Spring!
Margot~~~seeking waves.
Be careful on those roads, Margot. Enjoy your time away and I bet Spring will be here soon! Sounds like you are going somewhere warm. ♥
DeleteMy sister, who lives in Stuarts Draft is absolutely sick of the snow! Ours comes and goes pretty quickly, but the temperatures have been so erratic and I'm longing for Spring! Stay warm, dear friend, XOXO
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your sister has had more snow than us, Susan. I feel really bad complaining--our daughter in NH is sick of it too. I guess it's all relative to what we're used to. Have a great weekend, dear friend. XOXO ♥
DeleteWe all can tend to get a bit whiny toward the end of winter. Sometimes, we have simply used up all of our patience with it, and whining is all that's left for us to do.
ReplyDeleteYes, Connie, I've used up all my patience! I'm biting at the bit these days. Have a great weekend!♥
DeleteYou have some beautiful pictures here, Martha Ellen. Today's sun really did make a difference. We even were able to go to Lowes this afternoon (yay, right?). But this morning we didn't venture down our driveway because of the ice and couldn't go babysit Olivia June as planned. That's the bad part of winter.
ReplyDeleteThe sun was really bright and beautiful today, Cathy. Sorry you weren't able to see Olivia June. That is a big disappointment! I'm an outdoor girl and I'm just plain tired of being inside. There is always plenty to keep me busy inside, but I'm so ready to work outside. Spring will be here before we know it! ♥
DeleteYour yard does look very pretty in the snow, Martha Ellen! I know how you feel, though. It's time! I'm sure that all of the gardeners are getting anxious to check the garden beds and start cleaning up. Spring will be here soon! Have a happy weekend! ♡
ReplyDeleteDawn, I'm hoping it won't be too much longer before we can get out there and get our hands dirty. Have a great weekend. ♥
DeleteMartha Ellen, I didn't even hear you whining. Maybe my own whining was drowning you out. ;)
ReplyDeleteBut today is a new day and the sun is shining and I have hopes that the worst of winter is over! You too?
Today is a gorgeous day, Cheryl. I do believe we have turned a corner on the weather. Yay! ♥
DeleteHi Martha Ellen and your yard looks about like ours! I have loved seeing the snow this year (the most I've ever seen in my entire life!) but I'm ready to see some green now! Thanks for popping in to see me.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Shelia, you really moved to a snowy part of the country. So much of the US is covered in snow. Hopefully Spring isn't too far away--we had 50 degree temps today so a lot of that snow has melted. ♥
DeleteI think a lot of us are feeling your pain. =D One thing is certain, once the temps begin to warm, it won't take long until you're able to be out in the yard again. By April, no one will be the wiser! Make that June for my corner.
ReplyDeleteI really feel badly about my complaining. Sometimes a gal can't help but whine--I know, not too mature on my part. ♥
DeleteOur snow is GONE! Gone I SAY! hurrah. so, after doing a 4 day garden show in Nashville, I have come home with plants and the anticipation of digging in the earth very soon. First thing this morning I poked through the gardens to see who my survivors are. I expect wonderful things this year!
ReplyDeleteYay!!!! Ours is going away also, Jeri! I think we're going to make it to Spring. ♥
DeleteHi Miss Martha! My back yard looks just as yours hear in Western NY! And I have been making full use of my snow shoes! (in taking out the doggies) I found it so very beautiful but the longing for Spring is now in my blood and bones!! :-D Our area was hit unusually hard, and there are ladders up most homes as we have been battling the HUGEST ice build-ups and MUNGO icicles!!! This will be a good year for roofers :-) Now there is a warm (HEAT WAVE) 40s melt coming our way....I dread what will happen in our cellar! (very old house with flooding basement) but life is good!! (Especially when the sun is shining)!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week! Many Blessings and warmth, Linnie
Linnie, I feel rather badly about my complaining---I'm sure you have had much more cold and snow and ice than us in VA. Using snow shoes sounds like a great way to get around outside. I think that's what bothers me the most. Being cooped up--I'm ready to work outside. It will come in due time, I know. I hope there will be no issues for your cellar--last year we had a sump failure and our basement is finished---it was a mess. My husband has been watching it like a hawk this year. You are right --Life is good!! xo ♥
DeleteSending you some virtual spring weather, Martha. We have plenty of sunshine around here.
ReplyDeleteAmalia
xo
Thank you, Amalia! Our snow is just about all gone now! YAY!!!!! xo ♥
