Grayden and I are celebrating our fifty second anniversary this week. My heart is so full of gratefulness at the love we both share for each other. It's a good thing to remember long lasting love and we don't take it for granted. Every year we take time to come together to remember and celebrate.
This year we chose Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to visit and enjoy. If you've read this blog for very long you realize we adore the ocean.
October is a wonderful time to visit the ocean with few crowds and lovely weather in the south.
The full hunter's moon drew us to the balcony every evening.
How can your heart not gasp gazing on such beauty?
Grayden and I have walked miles and miles along the oceanfront, gathering upteen shells and even sharks teeth. I can't pass up a beautiful shell, even if I do have many, many jars at home.
My sweetheart and I are enjoying a lovely afternoon doing what we do best, sitting on the beach relaxing while reading and gazing at the gorgeous ocean.
Oh that’s wonderful! The photos are marvelous and especially those shots of the Hunter’s Moon. I also love the path on the water...makes one think she could walk it. ☺️ Happy Anniversary to an amazing couple!
ReplyDeleteVee, the moon has been so lovely reflecting its light on the ocean. Tonight is cloudy, so no reflection. The beauty of the universe fills my heart with joy. Thank you for the anniversary wishes.
Delete*H*A*P*P*Y* * *A*N*N*I*V*E*R*S*A*R*Y*!*!* to you both! I think it's wonderful that you make a special trip to celebrate together. Where did you stay while there? I was wondering if it was one of those charming beach front cottages. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa for the anniversary wishes. We stayed in a hotel right next to these lovely cottages.
DeleteCongratulations and Happy Anniversary to you and Grayden. Beautiful photos and we are kindreds, for I love the ocean deeply too. Sometimes I think saltwater runs in my veins. One of my first memories of living in America, many years ago now, was beach combing and my excitement at finding my first shark teeth. There is always room for one more shell, my friend!

Thank you, Deb. You and I are lovers of that magnificent ocean that connects us all! Finding shark's teeth is a thrill for Grayden and I. Soon I must take a photo of our finds when we return home. To think of the age of these finds is astounding to me. xoxo
DeleteSweethearts forever!! Happy 52nd Anniversary, dear Martha Ellen and Grayden! I just love all of the ways you take care of one another and your beautiful marriage. Keep celebrating! xoxo
ReplyDeleteYes, we are sweethearts forever, Dawn! Every day is a celebration, isn't it? Thank you for your sweet wishes. xoxo
DeleteWell Happy Anniversary! I love that you are still in love, it's a beautiful thing, especially after so many years, that you still call him your sweetheart. My husband and I have been married for 35 years so far...:).

Thank you for stopping by and leaving such a lovely comment. Love grows through the years and I wish the same for you!
DeleteHappy Anniversary! The beach in October is just like you say, quiet and restful.
ReplyDeleteI love the north end of myrtle beach.
Those pictures you captured of the hunters moon are just so crisp and clear and beautiful. Never can I can a shot like that.

Thank you for the anniversary wishes, Betsy. I thought of you and all the shells we have found along with shark's teeth. It's so lovely here in Myrtle Beach. The moon is difficult to capture and I still look to her for a special photo, but she is most lovely in person.
DeleteAnniversary blessings to you and Grayden!! I love that you always take the time to celebrate your longtime (but still very fresh) love. You are an inspiration! Such a beautiful setting for your celebration too.
ReplyDeleteCheryl, our love is a blessing to both of us. We are so thankful for the love we share. Thank you for your anniversary blessings!
DeleteMartha, happy anniversary to you both! You and Grayden are such a good example of how it CAN be--still happy together after 52 years--marvelous!
ReplyDeleteJean, we are so blessed and so happy together. I can't imagine my life without my sweetheart. Thank you.
DeleteHappy Anniversary, Martha Ellen. What a special day you had at the beach. Oh, and that Hunters Moon! - I've heard of it before, and wondering why it is called that? That first picture of the seagull is sweet. I just love those birds. Wishing you many more years of love and friendship together, my friend. : )

Thank you, Sheri for the anniversary wishes. The moon is known by many different names each month by different cultures. Native Americans would know in October it was time to hunt for food for the winter ahead. I love seeing the moon shining so beautifully above the ocean.
DeleteRick and I haven't been to Myrtle for maybe seven or eight years and I find your photos are triggering memories of many lovely times. Oh, that beautiful beach and water. Isn't the ocean wonderful? What a beautiful way to celebrate fifty two years. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteComing to the beach is always a good place to celebrate, isn't it, Jeanie? I hope you and Rick are able to return to Myrtle Beach in the future. It sounds like many of us here love the mighty ocean! Thank you for the wishes!
DeleteHappy Anniversary! I love your idea of sitting on the beach in October reading!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cathy. It's been wonderful.

ReplyDeleteLiz, the full moon was so pretty that evening. Thank you for the anniversary wishes.
DeleteI think it is wonderful that you celebration this oh-so-special occasion doing what you love best. My favorite picture is the path across the ocean. Happy Anniversary to both of you!
ReplyDeleteThe moon took our breath away that evening, Mary. Thank you so much for the anniversary wishes!
DeleteHappy Happy Anniversary, to you and your Dh, Ellen, may you have many more celebrations such as this. Your photos are spectacular, especially the moon shots.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sue

Delete52 years! Congratulations. It really is something to be celebrated. Dear and I love to walk the beaches, too. We've always enjoyed the beach off season. How nice you could get away to the beach and enjoy the walks and views together. Happy Anniversary!
