This past weekend marked the culmination of a lot of work for our dear grandson, Samuel. I've talked about him a lot on this blog. He has lived with us since he graduated from high school so he could attend college here.
The class of 2024 was led into the venue at Mary Ball Circle by the Eagle Pipe Band of UMW.
Samuel graduated with a degree in English from the University of Mary Washington. He has worked through all of the challenges that were presented him. We couldn't be prouder!
Samuel's parents were so excited, especially his mother! Our daughter Noel could hardly contain her excitement. This day has been a long time coming. Noel said this was the best Mother's Day gift ever. I couldn't agree more!
"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined." Henry David Thoreau
Needless to say, our joy couldn't be contained. Thank you for sharing that joy with us!
What a special time! Congratulations to Samuel!

DeleteYaaaay, Samuel got his degree! That is wonderful, Martha Ellen. I know how much work and time and energy goes in getting a degree, as my son is going to school to get his degree also. This is a great picture of Samuel and his mom and dad, and a dear photo of all of you. That was so good of you, Martha Ellen, to have Samuel live with you while he attended college. This is a much deserved degree. Thank you for sharing this joyous day with us. He looks so happy in this picture! : )

Thank you Sheri. We all are so thrilled for Samuel. I'm so happy to hear that your son is pursuing a degree. How wonderful. Samuel will continue to live with us as he wants to live in this area. He is a great help to his grandparents, so we are thrilled about that. Have a lovely day!
DeleteCongratulations to Samuel! It is nice that he is going to continue to stay with you and that it has worked out so well. What are his plans for his degree. None of my sons are actually working in the field of their college degrees!
ReplyDeleteSamuel is hoping to secure an editing job. Using his degree is his choice, but not imperative. That's interesting about your sons, Cathy. Life can take us in different directions when we least expect it! Thank you for the congratulations.
