All of the guys decided to go outside for an old fashioned snowball battle. What energy these kids have. Their Bear (grandfather) joined in the fun while their Boo (grandmother) stayed inside and took photos! Hey, someone had to do it.
Returning inside close to the fire, and peeling off wet snowy clothes, a request for hot chocolate was made. Boo always says yes to hot chocolate in the winter! Yes, I'm one of those grandmothers!
After hot chocolate we played Blockhead with the youngest. He loves this game!
I have to say all around it was a perfect weekend with the grands!
Wonderful grands! I am waiting for mine. Someday…
ReplyDeleteI just love the sampler on your blog! That is stamped, am I correct?
Kindred Spirit,
Margot
The grands are the love of my life, Margot. They bring so much joy to me. I made this counted cross stitch sampler when my eyes were much younger! Thanks for joining me, kindred spirit ♥
DeleteI see now it is counted cross-stitch.
ReplyDeleteYes. ♥
DeleteSuch a fun weekend to have all the grandboys at your home together. Are they all brothers to each other?
ReplyDeleteCathy, they are not all brothers. Miles and Alex ( the two younger ) are brothers and are our son's children. Samuel is our daughter's son. It is always nice to have all the grands together. ♥
DeleteI know you had a "grand" weekend, Martha Ellen!! What's not to like, huh? :) And, yes, the photographer has an important job!
ReplyDelete(Great mugs!)
Cheryl, it was indeed a grand weekend. Being the dish nut I am--these are from my Bennington pottery dishes. My sweetie bought them for me years ago after we visited Bennington Potters in Vermont. ♥
DeleteA fun weekend! Your grandsons are so handsome.
ReplyDeleteAmalia
xo
Amalia, I think they are handsome also. They are really great kids! xo ♥
DeleteWow Martha Ellen ~ WOW! that is all I can say about the way you captured the flying snow in those shots.
ReplyDeleteLovely photographs of a lovely family having a great family time!
~~~Deb in Wales
Deb, like you say, it takes a lot of shots to get good ones. They aren't too bad to be taken from inside. The grands and the grandparents had a great time together! xo ♥
DeleteLooks like lots of fun! Oh that blockhead game! We grew up playing it and yours looks like an oldie? I used to use those pieces as furniture and arrange little rooms with them!
ReplyDeleteDotsie, our blockhead game is quite old. It belonged to our children as they were growing up and they are in their 40's. I believe Miles loves it a lot more than his Daddy and Aunt did. He gets it out every time he comes to our home. I have many toys that belonged to our children. I've tried to get rid of them but the grands don't want that. Of course I want them to have something to play with when they visit. ♥
DeleteOh what fun! Your weekend looks a lot like ours! My husband and my youngest were out in the yard playing in the snow (even had a snowball fight!). I was inside with my other daughter taking pictures (just like you!). And of course, there was hot chocolate, there always is! xx
ReplyDeleteSounds like your family is doing what so many families are doing these days. It's not too much longer and spring will be here in all of its' glory. I can't wait! xo ♥
DeleteWhat great action shots; lots of expression and movement. How fun that Bear goes out to play, too! You two have fun names and that you have been able to hang onto them is even better.
ReplyDeleteVee, I'm learning that the more shots I take with the camera the better. That's a great thing about a digital camera. I would have never done that years ago.
DeleteBear is just one of my big kids--he loves to play with the grands. ♥
Hi Martha,
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect winter fun day!!! It is so fun to have Grandsons!! :-)
Many many BLESSINGS and much warmth, Linnie
Linnie, we received an additional 4 or 5 inches of snow this morning. All the grandsons schools have cancelled classes today. I'm sure they are out enjoying it.
DeleteHave a wonderful, warm cozy day. ♥
