What does this have to do with birds you may be asking yourself? As Grayden was dusting he mentioned to me that there are many more birds in our home than I had put in the post on Saturday. So I thought I'd share a few more today, if you don't mind.
First off, here are a few real birds that have recently frequented our feeders.
Now for some inside birds. I bought this little teapot in New England when our oldest grandson was small. It was on sale and I wanted a teapot to make tea in while we were staying in a timeshare.
This little ginger jar was a gift from my sister-in-law many years ago.
Last year I won a drawing from Jeri Landers at hopalonghollowgazette.blogspot.com Isn't she the most amazing artist? Jeri is oh so talented. Please visit her--she is so gracious! As you can see she loves birds and critters. Hopalong Hollow is filled with enchantment. She also sells her wonderful artwork from her online site and at craft fairs. To learn more go to:

These photos of Jeri's work do not do them justice. They hang in our Florida room that has eleven windows and even on cloudy days it is hard to photograph them without glare. I love having them in our home and smile everytime I look at them. ♥
Martha Ellen, you will be finding birds all over the place now! I'm still finding hearts I didn't know I had. You can some lovely shots of the birds in your yard. As for my retired husband, he does half the cooking (and cleans up after himself) and all the baking. I don't mind that he doesn't help clean. He folds his own laundry and does the snow plowing and grass mowing, etc.
ReplyDeleteMy husband has been helping with the laundry lately also. I have some arthritis in my knee and hip and my laundry room is downstairs so when I have a flareup he pitches in and does what is needed. We all share the work around here and help each other as needed. ♥
DeleteI meant to add that your teapot looks like a Marjolein Bastin tea pot. I love her art.
ReplyDeleteYes, you have a very good eye, Cathy---it is a Marjolein Bastin teapot! Her art is just lovely. ♥
DeleteMy husband has promised to take over the grocery shopping when he retires. That is music to my ears! He sees grocery shopping as a game and I would rather clean the bathroom. Really. :)
ReplyDeleteThose bird paintings are amazing!! No wonder they make you smile!
Cheryl, that's funny you would rather clean the bathroom than grocery shop. My sister hated grocery shopping also and so her husband did it. He loved it.
DeleteCheck out Jeri Lander's blog--she is an amazing talent! ♥
I simply adore birds ~ my garden is full of them too. I think you are turning into a bird lady ~ lol ~ and I particularly like your teapot. Your lovely entry today has made me start singing "Feed the Birds" ~~~tuppence a bag~~~ can you hear me? No? Just as well ~~~hahaha~~~ Sun is shining beautifully here today ~~~
ReplyDelete~~~Deb in Wales
Deb, I think I hear you singing. I've always loved birds--really all of nature. Keep singing and enjoy your sunshine! It's quite gloomy here today with predictions of more snow tomorrow! Spring ---please come! ♥
DeleteI love backyard birds and enjoyed seeing the array of birds visiting your yard! Cardinals are my absolute favourite! Your little white teapot is adorable. Is it by Marjolein Bastin? I think I recognize the artwork.
ReplyDeleteRosinda, it is a Marjolein Bastin teapot. I bought this little teapot in a card shop in Wolfboro, NH.
DeleteI hope your backyard birds come soon. We are expecting more snow tomorrow. Hopefully this will be our last round. Have a great day! ♥
I see your poor cardinal couple are beside themselves in the snow, and more is coming!! I love the teapot!! I didn't pick up on the fact that it is a Majolein Bastin painting. I save any card of hers that I get for a birthday. I don't hear my little birdie this morning. I even got up early today...
ReplyDeleteMargot, once the snow decided to come in February it doesn't know how to stop. Marjolein Bastin's art is quite lovely and of course I love that it is filled with nature. I hope you hear the bird songs soon. ♥
DeleteI should look for the birds in our house. We have plenty outside. I enjoy seeing yours. My husband is not retired but he is thoughtfully helping me more around the house, and he loves grocery shopping, which amazes me!
ReplyDeleteDotsie, I'm still finding birds around here. We are so blessed to have husbands that share in the work load. It's really different than the '50's when some of the around the house work was either man's or woman's work. My husband doesn't mind grocery shopping either. ♥
DeleteI have never known a blogger who was not also a bird lover. ☺I enjoyed seeing all the outside birds and the many inside ones as well. The art work is very special.
ReplyDeleteVee, I guess that's one of the things that draw us together. ♥
