When we traveled to South America we had the privilege of visiting Corcovado Mountain to view the Christ the Redeemer Statue. It meant so much to us to stand at the base of this amazing Art Deco statue. After taking a train up the mountain, then an elevator, then an escalator we reached the base of the monument. It reminded us of the enormity of the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior.
This large statue stands 98 feet tall and overlooks the city of Rio de Janeiro. Even though this was not the beginning of our visit to South America, I felt it was perfect to share this Easter Sunday. I will write more about this amazing statue at a later date.
