Sadness

There are many things in life that come along to cause us to pause.  Our son's and grandson's 14 year old dog passed away yesterday.  Henry had not been doing well for the past few months.  We laugh and say that Henry was Grady's first son. Henry is older than his children.   Our son and grandsons are so sad today. Alex and Miles have always had Henry in their lives.  It's one of those things that happens in life that you want your children and grandchildren to be protected from. I can't protect them today.  It's the circle of life.

Grady and Henry

Henry was one of the sweetest, smartest dogs we've ever been with.  We will miss you Henry. You have been a wonderful companion to our son and grandsons.

I'll leave you with a most interesting sunset from last week.  It looked like the sun was on fire.

  1. So sorry for your loss, Martha Ellen. Our fur kids bring such joy, and then such sadness when they leave us. I can tell Henry was much loved and will be sorely missed. xoxo

  3. I've had to have 2 cats put down over the years so I know how very difficult it is to do. And I know how you must be feeling for Grady and your grandchildren because my son just had to have his dog that he got before he was married put down last December. Henry will be greatly missed. My condolences to your whole family.

    1. Yes, Dotsie it's quite sad. When our son first got Henry, he was like a proud new father.
I'm working on the header and trying to figure it all out. My 11 year old grandson showed me a lot about how to change the header. ♥

  5. There is a special bond between a boy and his dog. Getting our son Ryan a black Lab puppy for his 10th birthday was one of the best things we ever did for him. And when Buster died a few years after Ryan married, our whole family grieved. As a mother, I not only grieved for Buster, but for Ryan's childhood.

I am sorry for all of you as you grieve Henry's passing. Hugs...

  7. Hi Martha, our hearts do break when our animal family depart this world, this is especially so for the children who grew up knowing and loving Henry. I've 3 senior cats that are REALLY old , they've been with us for 16 years.. It will be a hard day when I must bid them goodbye.

    1. Jeri, 16 years is a long time for cats. I think it is the hardest for the boys, but they are doing better now. Thank you for your kind words. ♥

  9. I'm so sorry, this is so sad. Our furry friends are truly family, no doubt. Henry will be waiting at Rainbow Bridge for you all. /hugs.

My furry feline kitty friend is laying behind me as "lumbar support" as I type this. He's always whenever I am and that is a fact.
