If I Were a Pumpkin

If I were a pumpkin,

I'd crawl about the ground,

I'd pick a rich compost area to dig my soul into,

I'd tell my blooms just wait and find just the right place to show your fruit,

Just climb and climb until you reach the spot,

Where comfort will ensue,

I'd sit upon my throne and let you know my color when I feel the time is due.

  1. What a delightful poem, Martha Ellen. Is that a pumpkin growing in your garden? Oh, I love to see pumpkins at Fall. The colors of Fall are slow up here this year, but I do see the trees changing color. I hope the colors of Autumn arrive to your neck of the woods as well.

Have a restful weekend, Martha Ellen. Once again, I have to tell you that your Header is wonderful. : )

    1. This little pumpkin grew up in our compost, Sheri. Only one pumpkin that we see growing up on the transformer on the edge of our property. So funny, but a nice surprise as the vine is all over the place!
Autumn colors are slow here as well. Maybe both of us will see the changes soon. Have a nice weekend and thank you for your sweet comments!

    1. Hopefully there is time, Vee. I didn't plant this one, it just came up on its own. Of course there are green pumpkins.

    1. My pumpkin waited a long time to reveal its presence, Cheryl. Its vine has been all over the compost area looking for just the right spot. I like the color as well. Maybe in time it will change.

    1. Deb, I have no idea what variety my little pumpkin is! It grew from a compost area that is three years old. Probably one from many Autumns ago!

  13. I'm glad you enjoyed Nel's Durham post. I thought about you when I read it, and another blog friend who loves England. Nel really had a special time visiting there, and she even talks about moving to England, which I don't think she ever will, but that's how much she appreciated her time spent there. ; )
